About Me

Meggie Lee (Meg) Calvin’s roots are in Texas, but she has served in the Sunflower State as a Minister to Children and Families at First United Methodist Church of Winfield for a decade.

"The Bluebonnet Child: Finding Grace in Poor Soil" with Wipf & Stock is her first book. It seeks to equip us to offer hope to kids whose homes seem hopeless.

She has a BA in Religion and Philosophy from Southwestern College of Kansas and an MA in Children’s and Family Ministry from Bethel Seminary of Minnesota.

She loves connecting with others through spiritual formation opportunities in her work with the International Network of Children's Ministry and with her online courses at the Institute for Discipleship (IFD). Along with this blog, she has blogged for the CoryCenter.org and ChurchLeaders.com.

As one who lives to encourage and equip others with words, she is also a co-host with Miranda Priddy on the podcast, "The Listening Chair" with the IFD. (This will launch in fall of 2018.) She and her husband spend most of their free-time by the chimenea with some classic rock music, or at the park with their young daughter.

She can be reached at meggiecalvin@gmail.com.

She loves speaking on the following topics: Serving Bluebonnet Children (kids of troubled homes), Nurturing and Refining Volunteer Teams, Vocational Calling, A Sustainable Rhythm for Servant Leaders and Authentic Worship for Kids.
