My Journey from Minister to Mystic

The Gospel Choir That Saved Me

By age 6, my family had experienced significant trauma. But when my mom connected me to her secretary’s gospel choir at church, I found deep healing from the God who loves, knows, and heals our deepest wounds. There, I learned to breathe. To feel harmony. To move with Spirit in my body.

My missionary grandparents noticed something in me—gifts, they called them. By 13, I was preaching and singing at churches across the region, this little ecclesial show pony trotting from pulpit to pulpit. And somewhere along the way, I started to believe that unconditional love and applause were the same thing.

So I stayed. I worked in ministry from age 13 to 32, making every single choice to impress others, to earn that applause, to prove I was worthy of the stage.

The Question That Cracked Me Open

At 28, I attended a somatic retreat. We were doing breathwork and body mapping—getting into all the places we hold tension and trauma. And the facilitator asked me a question that felt like it split me wide open:

“What would you do if no one ever knew or applauded you?”

The answer came immediately, from somewhere deep and true: Writing.

Writing was what I’d always loved most about ministry. Not the stage. Not the sermons. The quiet, sacred act of creating—channeling something bigger than myself onto the page.

So in 2016, I wrote my first book, The Bluebonnet Child, which led to coaching ministers and speaking at children’s ministry conferences. I was still in church ministry, but I could taste that God was up to something new that would use my obsession with words in a new and exciting way.

The Spiritual Awakening

By 2018, I was in full spiritual awakening mode. I had a past life regression experience that changed everything—it came through my four-year-old daughter’s dream, synchronicities I heard on two podcasts in the same day, and a session that opened me up completely.

I left the church. I wrote my second book—a memoir called I Am My Own Sanctuary—helping recovering people-pleasers take back their power from toxic religious conditioning.

And I started taking the classes I’d been curious about my whole life. Intuitive development with Rev. Dr. Katy Valentine and AJ Amyx . Level II Reiki certification. Cycle syncing with Alisa Vitti. Emotional body mapping. Breathwork. All the metaphysical and spiritual modalities the church had told me were “dangerous.”

These practices weren’t competing with my faith

What I Discovered Changed Everything

Here’s what I found: these practices weren’t competing with my faith. They were expressions of the same divine energy, just different languages.

I also found the experiences and vocabulary to heal my deepest wounds from childhood abuse and abandonment—wounds that Christianity alone hadn’t equipped me to heal authentically. Concepts like lightworker and soul contract, practices like past life regression, gave me tools to actually forgive those who had hurt me in ways I couldn’t access through traditional ministry.

That’s when I knew: I had to help other Christian women leaders do this same integration in order to sustain their service to self and others.

Building My Coaching Business

At the same time, I launched my business as a writing and marketing coach, helping servant leaders write, market, and sell their Amazon bestselling books on Kindle, Audible, and paperback.Since 2020, I built a team of seven and served 72+ one-on-one clients from multiple continents.

But here’s what I discovered: what held my clients back the most wasn’t writing skill or marketing knowledge. It was that they didn’t trust their desires as safe.

They were terrified to take up space. Afraid their ambition was selfish. Convinced that wanting more meant they were ungodly or greedy.

And the most favorite part of my job—the part that lit me up—was holding the sacred, transformational space for these servant leaders to become spiritually unblocked, creatively unblocked, and confident in themselves again.

It was all through my own intuitive abilities that I created that magical space. And honestly? It’s the part I want to focus more of my time and energy on moving forward.

The Pivot

So I’m enhancing my entire business to focus on what I love: the emotional, spiritual, and creative unblocking. The client care of the servant leaders God is calling me to serve. The transformation.

I’m launching The Treasure Within—a 12-week group coaching program that uses my upcoming women’s upmarket fiction novel, There, He Holds Her, as the main curriculum.

Why fiction?

Because it’s an easy entry point. No walls go up when it’s a story. You’re just falling in love with characters—empathizing with their struggles, their desires, their becoming. And through that empathy, life transformation happens.

We also bring in nonfiction sources on boundaries, relationships, conflict resolution, time management, self-care, and desire. We use guided meditations, breathwork, emotional body mapping, cycle syncing, biblical and spiritual texts, talk therapy frameworks—all the unconventional practices I’ve used to help my clients become unblocked so they can receive more of the desires in their professional and personal lives with those they love most.

What Qualifies Me

Here’s what equips me to hold this space:

• 20 years of ministry work within churches and camps
• Seminary training focused on curriculum writing and pastoral care

• Level II Reiki certification with Rev. Dr. Katy Valentine
• Years of intuitive development training
• Curriculum expertise in talk therapy, emotional body mapping, cycle syncing, breathwork
• 6 years of full-time coaching 72+ clients, specializing in creative and spiritual unblocking

 • My own transformational business coach since 2018, AJ Amyx
• Two traditionally published books with a third (fiction) on the way
• What feels like ons of studying biblical texts, spiritual modalities, and metaphysical practices

Most importantly: I’ve lived this journey. I was the people-pleaser on the way to burnout, the servant leader who had no idea what I really wanted, who feared my intuitive experiences were heretical. I’ve walked the path from choosing to integrating. And I’m here to walk it with you.

Ministry IS metaphysical

Mission & Vision

My Vision

I help individuals feel certain, safe, and powerful.

Certain of their potential to cocreate with God. Certain that their desires are safe to express. Certain that they’re safe even when others are emotionally uncomfortable with their choices.

Safe to trust their desires. Safe to bring their body back into the conversation. Safe to be both Christian AND intuitive AND mystical at the same time.

Powerful in their divine magical powers as women. Powerful in honoring their cyclical nature. Powerful in their ability to cocreate and receive.

My Mission:

Creating transformational spaces where women can trust their desires are safe, withstand others’ discomfort about their decisions, realize they can cocreate with God, and bring their bodies back into the conversation when making decisions.

My group coaching is like a spa for the soul where exhausted leaders reconnect with self-care, sensuality, and how to be in the divine feminine—while still honoring their Christian roots and heritage.
