Our Family Mission Statement

Rest

Self-care is key. A healthy family is comprised of healthy individuals. One cannot play hard or work hard without a time of rejuvenation. We will honor our limits. Our daily rhythm will be balanced out with times when we walk more slowly and talk more softly.

Work

With our talents and recourses, we will offer God our best within our community and individual careers . We will view challenges as an opportunity for personal growth. We will trust our gifts. We will never stop learning. Our ancestors left us the legacy of a determined spirit, and we will pass this on to our children.

Play

Every weekend contains the potential for a new adventure. We will play as hard as we work. We will laugh as much as we learn. From motorcycles to museums, marksmanship to music; hobbies will have a place in our home. We will strive to serve as part of a strong support system for our friends and family. We will value them as a source of joy in our lives.

Love

We will love selflessly and unconditionally.  We will love each other on days that are dandy and on days that are dark. When we fail each other, we will speak transparently and lovingly forgive. Even on days when we don’t feel ‘loving’- we will make every effort to love. We will make this attempt knowing that the reward is not in the feeling of love, but in the result of years of selflessly loving one another.

This was such an eye-opening and empowering experience to create this with your Father. I would encourage all families to create one for their home :).
